India has reached the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup after winning 10 games on the trot. Before the World Cup started, not many expected India to perform so well. While the big task will be to win the World Cup, BCCI could take some bold decisions irrespective of the result on Sunday. On that note, here, we take a look at three bold decisions India could take irrespective of the 2023 ODI World Cup final result.

1) Change the coaching staff

When Rahul Dravid and his Team were appointed, it was for a two-year stint. Until the 2023 ODI World Cup, there were not many good opinions about this group. However, everyone has a great view of them now, after seeing India’s performance.

That said, BCCI must be careful here. Granting another extension could mean they would continue for another WTC Cycle, the 2024 T20 World Cup and maybe the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, as well. Considering all the factors, a decision could be taken in a few weeks.

2) Consider Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for the 2024 T20 World Cup

Considering Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for the 2024 T20 World Cup is one of the bold decisions India could take irrespective of the 2023 ODI World Cup final result. A few months ago, Virat and Rohit were seen as one of the weaker links in the batting line-up.

However, they performed better than all. At the moment, both do not have a spot in the T20 team. However, looking at how they stepped up when it mattered, the management might consider them for the World Cup in 2024.

3) Appoint KL Rahul as the ODI captain

KL Rahul‘s maturity and calmness impressed everyone. As a wicketkeeper, too, he has been doing a fine job. India might need a new ODI skipper after Rohit Sharma.

Hardik Pandya could focus more on T20s and hence, KL Rahul could be given this task. It will be a bold call because Rahul was not in the good books of the fans some time ago.
