RCB might not retain Faf du Plessis for IPL 2025. It is not a form issue. Faf is already 40 and it may not be feasible for RCB to still have him as a part of the setup. Therefore, the management might already be considering a few names who can replace him. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Australian cricketers RCB can target to replace Faf du Plessis for IPL 2025.

Note: We have considered players who are likely to be released by their current outfits.

1) Aaron Hardie

Aaron Hardie has experience of playing in both the top and the middle order. While he is more suited to the No.3 role at the top, he can also open the batting if needed.

He can provide four overs with the ball and if RCB cannot retain Cameron Green, Hardie should be the realistic replacement for him, as well.

2) Mitchell Marsh

Marsh is one of the Australian cricketers RCB can target to replace Faf du Plessis for IPL 2025. Delhi Capitals will mostly release him and if Marsh can commit to come to IPL every year, he would be a superb replacement for Faf at the top of the order.

Yes, fitness is a concern but that is something that cannot be changed. Marsh adds the aggressive factor at the top of the order. He is also decent with the ball, which will add balance to the side. At the same time, he could lend his captaincy experience, if needed by the side.

3) Josh Inglis

Josh Inglis is a decent choice for an IPL franchise. He has been doing well for Australia and has the ability to play in the top and the middle order.

Importantly, he is a genuine wicket-keeper. RCB needs someone after the retirement of Dinesh Karthik. In this regard, Inglish could be a wise pick for the franchise.
