.Yuvraj Singh is one of the best all-rounders that the game has seen. He helped India win the 2011 ODI World Cup with a solid display in both departments. He also had a crucial role in India winning the 2007 T20 World Cup. There were a few other records that are still in Yuvi’s name. On that note, here, we take a look at two world records of Yuvraj Singh which might never be broken in the game.
1) Fastest T20I Fifty -12 Balls
In the 2007 T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes in an over against England. This was also the game in which he scored a 12-ball fifty. It has been 16 years and no one has still breached this record.
Colin Munro did come close to this record with a half-century from 14 balls. However, in the current era, it would be hard for anyone to beat Yuvi’s record. With a lot of data, weaknesses are found easily and it can be hard for a batter to take on the bowler continuously for a few deliveries, especially when he/she is new to the crease.
2) Two hattricks in a single IPL edition – 2009 for Punjab Kings
Getting two hattricks in a single IPL edition is one of the world records of Yuvraj Singh which might never be broken in the game. Of course, it does not count as a world record since it is a domestic league but since almost every nation now has a domestic T20 competition, this record by Yuvi is special.
The all-rounder did it in the second IPL season in South Africa. His first hat trick was against RCB and the next one was against Deccan Chargers. Interestingly, both these teams met in the final of IPL 2009. Some of the players who got out in this hat trick were Jacques Kallis, Robin Uthappa, and Andrew Symonds
