Having former captains in the squad is a luxury for teams. While they add experience on one side, they can also be the vice-captain or the backup captain for the current team. A few teams enjoy this luxury in IPL 2024. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two teams with the highest number of IPL captains in the squad.

1) Royal Challengers Bangalore – 4 (Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik)
RCB has a solid core and in this core, there are some experienced names. Faf du Plessis is the current skipper of the side and ever since his appointment, he has been doing well. Last season, when Faf was not available for a few games, Virat Kohli led the side. Virat is the longest captain for RCB.
Glenn Maxwell was the captain of the Punjab Kings in the past. It might not be a surprise if is one of the contenders to become the future skipper of RCB. Dinesh Karthik has done captaincy at KKR. He was the skipper for quite a while at the Eden Gardens.
2) Gujarat Titans – 4 (Shubman Gill*, Rashid Khan, David Miller and Kane Williamson)
Gujarat Titans is one of the teams with the highest number of IPL captains in the squad. Including Shubman Gill, there would be four players with IPL captaincy experience once the season stars for GT.
Rashid Khan was the captain of the side whenever Hardik Pandya was not fit. Kane Williamson is a legendary captain, having helped SRH to a few playoff spots. David Miller was also once an IPL captain. He was the captain of Punjab Kings, which was then called Kings XI Punjab. Wriddhiman Saha is also a player with experience in this squad.
