The 2024 U19 World Cup is ongoing at the moment in South Africa. Usually, in every edition, we at least notice a few members related to popular cricketers taking part in the event. This time, though, the count is high. There are quite a few examples of youngsters coming from a family which has already produced one or two cricketers. Interestingly, there are examples of sons of some popular stars who will take the field in the tournament. Interestingly, some of the fathers in these cases are still very much active in the sport. Here, we take a look at the list of two sons of popular cricketers who are playing in the 2024 U19 World Cup.
1) Hassan Eisakhil – Mohammad Nabi
Mohammad Nabi is a well-known name in the game right now. He has led Afghanistan for quite a few years and is now an important member of the team in the T20I setup. He also plays in multiple leagues across the globe. Recently, the Afghan was picked up by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 Auctions.
Nabi’s son Hassan Eisakhil is an upcoming opening batter walking in the footsteps of his father. He is already doing well and there is hope that he could perform like his father in the coming years. It will be interesting to see how he performs because he will be under pressure.
2) Haydon Mustard – Phil Mustard
Haydon Mustard is one of the sons of popular cricketers who are playing in the 2024 U19 World Cup. Phil Mustard played 10 ODIs and 2 T20Is for England. He was very popular in the County Championship, doing well in the tournament.
His son Haydon is also a wicket-keeper like Mustard. Haydon also opens the batting like his father. It will be interesting to see if he can do well at this stage like is father did a few decades ago.
