Royal Challengers Bangalore have a decent squad for IPL 2024. Having missed out on the playoffs last season, the team made several changes to the management. Andy Flower is now the Head Coach of the side while Mo Bobat is the Director. The team does lack an experienced bowling attack, especially in the spin department. This will be the challenge for the side. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two relations of former India cricketers who will play for RCB in IPL 2024.
1) Mayank Dagar – Nephew of Virender Sehwag
Mayank Dagar is the nephew of Virender Sehwag. Even at Punjab Kings, where Sehwag had served a role in the backroom, Mayank was a part of the side.
Mayank Dagar is a left-arm orthodox spinner. He was traded in from Sunrisers Hyderabad in exchange for Shahbaz Ahmed. He is one of the fittest cricketers in India. Apart from his off-spin, Mayank can also be useful with the bat. He is likely to take a place in the playing XI for the side from the first encounter. It will be interesting to see how he performs.
2) Dinesh Karthik – Son-in-law of Susan Itticheria
Dinesh Karthik is the son-in-law of Susan Itticheria, a former India Women’s Cricketer. She played 7 Tests and 2 ODIs for Team India back then.
Dinesh Karthik is all set to play in his final IPL season as per reports. In the history of IPL, he has missed only 2 games. That shows the kind of impact that he had in the tournament. RCB will be keen to make it special for the specialist finisher. At No.6, DK will also play a vital role in the franchise. The team needs his experience for the batting unit to click. The likes of Cameron Green will partner with DK in the finishing department.
