RCB is struggling at the moment in IPL 2024. The team has sufficient resources but yet, they are tactically not adept to make the best use of them. Of course, the team would have liked some better upgrades at certain positions in the playing XI. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three benched players in other teams who could have been useful for RCB.
1) R Sai Kishore – Gujarat Titans
R Sai Kishore played the first few games for Gujarat Titans before he was benched again. Last year, as well, he spent all his time on the bench. Noor Ahmed is doing well and Sai might yet again suffer the same fate as last year.
On the other hand, RCB is struggling with its spin unit. Mayank Dagar has been inconsistent and has not made an impact. When it comes to wickets, as well, the Himachal Pradesh spinner has not been at his best.
2) Abhinav Manohar – Gujarat Titans
He might play a game soon but Abhinav Manohar has not been able to displace Vijay Shankar in the playing XI at GT. Shahrukh Khan is another player who competes for a position in the middle order.
RCB has not been able to take down the spinners regularly in IPL 2024. Specialists such as Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell have not been in form. Abhinav could have been useful in this regard.
3) Mitchell Santner – Chennai Super Kings
Mitchell Santner is one of the benched players in other teams who could have been useful for RCB. For yet another season, it appears that Santner has to spend time on the bench in IPL. CSK is not making use of his services.
A team like RCB would have done well with a player like Santner. He could have led the spin attack and would have also provided a good option in the lower middle-order with the bat.
