Most of the teams have already announced their squads for the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup. ICC has a rule that only 15 players can be named in the squad. Hence, a few cricketers had to miss out on the opportunity to play for their country at the mega-event. That said, a few of them are now in serious form. There is still a possibility for teams to change their squad and it may not be all over for these cricketers. On that note, here, we take a look at two players dropped for the 2023 ODI World Cup who are in exceptional form right now.

1) Marnus Labuschagne

The Australian middle-order batter had been in poor form for a while. Hence, it was not a surprise when he was dropped from the scheme of things for the ODI format.

However, coming in as a concussion substitute against South Africa, he looked to be in brilliant form. In the next game, he scored a century. With these two knocks, Marnus has surely alerted the management of the Australian Team. In India, a player like him can be useful, especially with his skills to also offer a few overs. Hence, it might just not be over yet for the cricketer.

2) Harry Brook

Harry Brook is one of the players dropped for the 2023 ODI World Cup who are in exceptional form right now. Brook is also someone who has struck form right after he was not named in the preliminary squad.

He did well in the T20 league and then in the T20I series against New Zealand. Now, he opened the batting for England the other day in the absence of Jason Roy. If Roy is ruled out of the World Cup, it appears that there would not be any surprises in Brook getting his chance.
