After weeks full of excitement and enthralling contests, T20 World Cup 2022 has reached its conclusion. With 16 teams fighting each other for the trophy, it has now come down to 4 teams in India, Pakistan, England and New Zealand
While Pakistan and New Zealand will face in Semi-final 1 at SCG, India and England will lock horns with each other in Semi-final 2 at Adelaide Oval. While India, New Zealand and England played exceptionally well to qualify, Pakistan on the other hand got the lucky entry as after being almost out of the event, they managed to qualify.
Both India and Pakistan being in the semi-final means that there are high chances of arch-rivals playing in the final as well. Both teams need to win their respective matches and fans are also optimistic about them playing in the final at MCG on 13th November.
Not only fans but former South African cricketer AB de Villiers is also expecting India and Pakistan to play in the final. He created poll on Twitter asking his followers about the possibility of the arch-rivals clashing.
With more than 70% of people voting for yes, De Villiers shared his thoughts about the same. He said: “Fantasy final indeed! So far 70% have voted Yes, but I’m sure NZ and ENG will have something to say about that. Both teams have amazing line-ups and are in good form. Gonna be two epic semi final clashes. My vote goes for an Ind/Pak final too, would be a mouth watering encounter.”
