WI vs IND 2022: After seeing Suryakumar Yadav’s recent performance with the bat in Twenty20 cricket, Sanjay Manjrekar, a former batsman for India, had nothing but admiration for him.

The top-ranked batter in T20 Internationals, Babar Azam, is now just two rating points ahead of the second-ranked batter in T20 Internationals, Suryakumar, who has moved up three ranks to take second overall. Given that he scored his most recent half-century opening the innings against the West Indies, it is clear that his ability to adapt to varying difficulties has been the driving force behind his success.

“Surya’s growth as a batter in the last 5 years or so has been just phenomenal! A few years back flick over square leg was his one ‘go to’ shot. Now, he has several. There isn’t a length or line or certain pace that can keep him quiet.”

Suryakumar is now a member of the Indian team that is about to depart for Florida to compete in the last two Twenty20 Internationals against the West Indies. In only three games, he has a strike rate of over 170 and has scored 111 runs, which is the most of any player in the series.

As India’s preparations for the 2022 ICC Twenty20 World Cup in Australia continue, he will be looking to build on the success he has had in the team’s most recent two encounters. Suryakumar Yadav will be an integral part of the Indian Cricket Team’s success in the mega event at the end of the year.
