Kieron Pollard ends ILT20 as the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament
MI Emirates skipper Kieron Pollard turned the tables on fire in the ongoing ILT20. He turned back the clock and smashed runs for fun in the tournament. It’s fair to say that his performance and leadership was one of the prime reason his side reached the Qualifiers of the tournament.
Pollard was one of the most consistent players in the tournament and is leading from the front. He ended the tournament as the third-highest run-getter in the league with 394 runs to his name from just 10 games. He has played with a strike rate of 192.20 and an average of 78.80.
His most recent heroics came in Qualifier 2 against Gulf Giants as he scored unbeaten 57 runs in just 35 balls and helped his side post a decent total on the board. Although his innings went in vain, he was surely one of the best players of the tournament.
Pollard’s last six scores in the league read 57*(35), 43(17), 19(7), 50*(19), 67*(39), and 86(38) and it’s fair to say that he has been at his vintage best. He led MI Emirates brilliantly but failed to win them title.
Pollard, who has been the main pillar of Mumbai Indians’ success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) carried the legacy of Mumbai Indians even in the overseas league as his side was among the top teams of the tournament.

As Kieron Pollard ends ILT20 as the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament, fans on Twitter reacted to it. They lauded him for his heroics and said that they will miss him in the IPL. He has retired from IPL. He, however, will continue to remain part of the MI as he will be their batting coach. Here are some of the reactions:
While the quality of Emirates league isn't that great, however these are just amazing numbers, may be ruining agreeing to be batting coach for Mumbai Indians and not play at least one more season of IPL as a player. https://t.co/1quIE2ZgOI
