“We Make The Most Money”- Jamaica Cricket Association Head Says West Indies Earns Highest Revenue When Indian Team Comes To Play

The Indian cricket team is one of the most popular sports teams across the planet, having a fan following of millions. Whenever the Men in Blue play a match irrespective of where the match is happening, they always get support from the fans. Jamaica Cricket Association President Wilfred Billy Heaven recently cemented the aforementioned claim as he said that the Caribbean boards make the highest money when India visits West Indies.

The Indian cricket team is regularly touring foreign nations to battle the other cricket teams. Last year, despite the testing times, India sent a team to Sri Lanka to help the SLCB generate revenue from six matches.

Recently, the President of India Ramnath Kovind sent 100 cricket kits to Jamaica, and the Jamaica Cricket Association chief was grateful to him. Further saying how the Indian team helps the West Indies financially, Heaven told ANI:

“Whenever India plays any match in Caribbean, a lot of people see those matches between India and West Indies. We make the most money whenever Team India come here to play and it’s our biggest income stream at Cricket West Indies.”

Wilfred Billy Heaven further said that he was happy to receive 100 cricket kits from India because that would help the talents in the country to improve themselves further and then play at the international level. Here’s what he added:

“As Jamaica Cricket Association, we are indeed happy that this gift is coming from India, it’s mega cricket in the world.”

The Indian cricket team visited West Indies in 2019, and they are scheduled to tour West Indies and the USA for matches against the Men in Maroon later this year as well. It will be exciting to see how the Indian team performs in the series against West Indies.
