Irani Trophy 2024 will be played from October 1st. Rest of India will take on Mumbai for this game. Here, we take a look at the strongest playing XI of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy 2024. Before that, here is a look at the squad selected for the game:
Rest of India squad:Â Ruturaj Gaikwad (C), Abhimanyu Easwaran (VC), Sai Sudharsan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel (WK)*, Ishan Kishan (WK), Manav Suthar, Saransh Jain, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal*, Ricky Bhui, Shashwat Rawat, Khaleel Ahmed, Rahul Chahar
Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad (C) and B Sai Sudharsan
Ruturaj Gaikwad and B Sai Sudharsan are likely to be the openers in the strongest playing XI of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy 2024. Ruturaj is the skipper while Sai is in good form at the moment. Especially considering India’s future, the duo could be at the top.
Middle-Order: Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ricky Bhui, Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel (WK)
Easwaran is always in form and deserves a spot in the XI. He is anyway the vice-captain. Devdutt Padikkal played for India in the middle-order and hence, he could get a similar role. Ricky Bhui is in form but his batting slot could differ. Dhruv Jurel is the likely wicket-keeper but if he plays for India, Ishan Kishan could get selected.
All-Rounders: Saransh Jain and Manav Suthar
You could say that the squad is light in the spin department. However, both these players are in good form and can also contribute with the bat. Hence, they are in the team.
Bowlers:Â Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar and Yash Dayal
Prasidh Krishna will lead the pace attack for this strongest playing XI of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Trophy 2024. Mukesh Kumar will be the other constant. If Yash Dayal plays for India, Khaleel Ahmed could get a spot.
