The anticipation of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup, which will take place in October and is slated to take place when team India is in the midst of preparing for the forthcoming Asia Cup, has begun to make team India anxious. Rishabh Pant remarked that the whole squad is anxious after India’s terrible performance the previous year. Despite this, the Men in Blue are gearing up to make a comeback and will do their best to go to the finals.
Rishabh Pant has said that the whole squad is apprehensive in anticipation of the Twenty20 World Cup and has stated, “Hopefully we’ll reach the final.”
“With the World Cup just around the horizon, everyone on the squad is feeling a little on edge, but at the same time, we all want to compete to the best of our abilities and keep our attention fixed on the process. Absolutely,” That is the one thing we are capable of doing, and that is to provide our very best effort, both as individuals and as a team,” Pant said. Pant expressed their hope that they would go to the final and do their best for the squad.
Rishabh Pant talks about the approaching World Cup
The last time India competed, they did not do well and suffered humiliating losses at the hands of Pakistan and New Zealand. The reigning champions of the Asia Cup are prepared for the next competition; nonetheless, the whole squad will need to get over their jitters before competing in the World Cup. On October 23rd, India will open their campaign for the Twenty20 World Cup against their most bitter rivals, Pakistan, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
“I believe it’s a fantastic environment, playing at the MCG because it’s one of the most famous cricket stadiums in the world. Consequently, I really want to play there. Particularly beneficial for us is the presence of an Indian audience there,” added Pant.
Rishabh Pant has said that the whole squad is worried as the T20 World Cup is quickly approaching, and he has expressed his hope that the side would make it all the way to the final.
It should come as no surprise that the match between India and Pakistan will be a highly-anticipated mega affair. The match between the two Asian powerhouses will take place in front of a sold-out crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. When it comes to India’s most prominent wicketkeeper, Australia has proven to be a fruitful hunting ground. Rishabh Pant’s theatrics during India’s victory over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar trophy last year are still vividly remembered by everyone.
“Up to this point in my cricketing career, it has to be one of my all-time favourite moments,” Pant stated as he reflected on India’s victory in the last test of the Gabba series, which India won 2-1. “I’m delighted that I could assist my team over the line that day and have that fantastic test match and series triumph,” Pant added.
