The last time India competed, they did not do well and suffered humiliating losses at the hands of Pakistan and New Zealand. The reigning champions of the Asia Cup are prepared for the next competition; nonetheless, the whole squad will need to get over their jitters before competing in the World Cup. On October 23rd, India will open their campaign for the Twenty20 World Cup against their most bitter rivals, Pakistan, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

It should come as no surprise that the match between India and Pakistan will be a highly-anticipated mega affair. The match between the two Asian powerhouses will take place in front of a sold-out crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. When it comes to India’s most prominent wicketkeeper, Australia has proven to be a fruitful hunting ground. Rishabh Pant’s theatrics during India’s victory over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar trophy last year are still vividly remembered by everyone.

“Up to this point in my cricketing career, it has to be one of my all-time favourite moments,” Pant stated as he reflected on India’s victory in the last test of the Gabba series, which India won 2-1. “I’m delighted that I could assist my team over the line that day and have that fantastic test match and series triumph,” Pant added.
