Gujarat Titans fans might be happy that their team is winning a lot of close matches in the ongoing IPL 2022, but their captain Hardik Pandya is a bit “scared”. Hardik, while speaking in the post match presentation yesterday, said that he is fearing that his team might run out of luck before the playoffs or the main games.
The Gujarat Titans finisher Rahul Tewatia had already pulled a heist against Punjab Kings by hitting Odean Smith for two sixes off the last two balls of the game. It was only the second time in the history of the IPL that a batsman had won the game for his team by hitting two sixes off last two balls.
After that, Gujarat Titans won another impossible sort of game against Chennai Super Kings where they had to chase 48 off 18 balls with 5 wickets down, on a pitch which was not quite flat, but Rashid Khan and David Miller, somehow, made sure they got over the line there again.
And then last night in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat had to score 22 runs off the last over of the game and although this time around, the surface was batting friendly, scoring 22 in the last over and that too off the bowling of a quality bowler like Marco Jansen is improbable most of the days.
Maybe God has just been kind to us: Hardik Pandya
However, Gujarat hit 4 sixes in that final over, one by Rahul Tewatia and three by Rashid Khan, and ended up winning a mighty close game again, a game which looked lost for them at one point of time. Hardik Pandya, in post match interview, said maybe God has just been kind to his team, but he is fearing that they might be running out of luck.
Gujarat Titans have now won 7 out of their 8 games and one more win will almost confirm their place in the IPL 2022 playoffs.
