India are playing their last group-stage match in the T20 World Cup 2022 currently against Zimbabwe and they are totally dominating them as expected. The Blues have already qualified for the Semi-finals but they need to win this match to emerge on the top of the Group 2 points table as obviously, they do not want to face the mighty New Zealand in the semi-finals.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss today and took the obvious decision of batting first as the match is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma started off Team India’s innings on a very high note. Although captain Rohit had to depart after making just 15 runs, continuing his bad run in the tournament, KL Rahul made a half-century (his second in a row) and further cemented his spot in the playing XI.

Virat Kohli was looking to be in fine form as well but just when it looked like he was now ‘set’, Sean Williams dismissed him and the former Indian captain departed for just 26 off 25.

All the responsibilities were then laid on the shoulders of India’s current no.4 batsman Surya Kumar Yadav who simply nailed the opportunity. Surya played a phenomenal knock of 62 off 25, firing shots in all directions. He showed the world why is called the ‘Indian Mr. 360 degree’ and is a worthy successor of AB de Villiers. His 244.00 strike rate knock today helped India reach a respectable total of 186/5 which could be easily defended by our bowlers.

Sky played some sensational shots today. So much so that the Rajasthan Royals admin could not help but post a screenshot of one of his scoop shots from today’s match with the caption ‘Ilegal’.

As it now stands, Zimbabwe have scored only 96/6 in 14 overs and are on the verge of losing the match.
