The IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions are currently happening in Bengaluru. The first hour or so has been intense, with not many players going unsold. A lot of big bids have already been made and amidst this, IPL 2022 finalists pulled off a steal. They signed IPL winning captain David Warner for just INR 6.25 cr. In this article, we take a look at what Wasim Jaffer had to say after Delhi Capitals‘ signed David Warner for INR 6.25 cr.
Delhi Capitals’ sign David Warner at IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions
Right from the word go, Delhi got into the action for an opener. They went after Shikhar Dhawan but lost out to him. However, they got it right when they started bidding for Warner. Eventually, they signed him up at INR 6.25 Cr. Considering the prices of other players at the event, Warner’s contract was a steal. Most importantly, Warner comes in with loads of experience and he will be the perfect partner for Prithvi Shaw at the top of the order. The Aussie will also help Rishabh Pant in the leadership department. The fact that Warner has already played for Delhi in the past will also help the franchise once the tournament returns to the home-and-away format.

Meanwhile, former Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer has landed at Kolkata Knight Riders while Shikhar Dhawan will play for Punjab Kings from IPL 2022. Another former DC player Kagiso Rabada will join Dhawan at PBKS. Delhi still has a few gaps to fill and it needs to be seen as to whom they would go after.
