Chennai Super Kings has had an abysmal start to their IPL 2022 campaign as they have lost three of their opening games and it is a heart-wrenching for their fans to witness them go deeper in a slump. There are countless reasons for such a wobbly display from the reigning champions but currently what seems to be the most imminent issue is a flailing batting order.

Despite a dominant display against Lucknow Super Giants with the bat, they have struggled against the Knights and the Punjab Super Kings and it continues to be a thorn in their flesh. The new Chennai captain, Ravindra Jadeja is still looking for answers and at the moment, he is running empty.

Fans have to believe that the biggest blunder made by Chennai Super Kings was to lose out on Suresh Raina, one of the most experienced batters for the Yellow Army. He has carried the team on his shoulders for a while and was a major boost in the line-ups given his ability to score a handful of important runs and switch gears whenever his team needed him.

Also, his presence in the middle would assure the Super Kings of a reliability that would allow the other batters to go all guns blazing. Even in the precursor edition of the tournament, Raina didn’t really rack up significant figures next to his name but his presence proved to be invaluable in the face of some menacing bowling attacks.

Another important aspect about Suresh Raina is that he is also a seasoned leader who could marshal the forces much more conveniently than the way Jadeja has handled things. Somehow it has always felt that the all-rounder is missing out on getting his moves right and his team simply continues to pay the price. With heightened expectations reigning supreme, Chennai will have to find a way out and Twitter believed that Raina is the way out of this jeopardy.
