Bangladesh’s series win over Pakistan is a warning for India. They will tour India next for a two-match test series. The Indian management might not tinker much with their playing XI. Here, we take a look at the safe playing XI for India against Bangladesh after the opponent’s recent whitewash over Pakistan.

Openers: Rohit Shama (C) and Yashasvi Jaiswal

The duo has been doing well and will be the strength of the squad. However, both must play as per the pitch and should avoid going all out very early in the game.

Middle-Order: Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant (WK)

It will be a settled middle-order for this safe playing XI for India against Bangladesh after the opponent’s recent whitewash over Pakistan. Keeping Shreyas Iyer is a very bold call. However, the management might be forced to do that. KL Rahul is just too good when it comes to avoiding collapses. Also, his form is crucial if India has to travel abroad. Rishabh Pant and Gill are needed as they are the future of this squad.

All-Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and R Ashwin

Kuldeep Yadav might miss out mainly because India might prefer a longer batting order. Also, Axar Patel has improved as a batter and this will further increase his value in the team. Ashwin and Jadeja are, of course, non-negotiables.

Bowlers: Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah

Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah will be the pacers in this safe playing XI for India against Bangladesh after the opponent’s recent whitewash over Pakistan. The management would have ideally liked to rest Bumrah. However, seeing Bangladesh’s form, it would be better to be safe than sorry. Bumrah‘s skills and experience are needed and it might have to be complemented with Siraj‘s presence, as well. Therefore, both these players could be in the XI.
