Indian captain Rohit Sharma must be really pleased with the way how things turned out for the team in the three-match ODI series against the New Zealand cricket team.

Team India drew first blood in the series by beating the Black Caps by 12 runs in Hyderabad. After that, the Men in Blue chipped in with an 8-wicket win in the second ODI in Raipur and won the series.

Rohit Sharma and Co dominated the dead rubber in Indore that was held yesterday. India won the game by a big margin of 90 runs and won the series by 3-0. Notably, India claimed the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings.

Virat, Hardik and Shardul planned Latham’s dismissal: Rohit Sharma

Indian captain Rohit Sharma, at the post-match presentation, echoed that Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur came up with a master plan to get rid of New Zealand’s interim captain Tom Latham.

Team India got the prized wicket of Latham for a golden duck and it was Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur who planned the dismissal and it worked pretty well.

Tom Latham fell prey to Shardul Thakur’s bowling as Hardik Pandya took the catch in his safe pair of hands. New Zealand were bowled out for 295 runs as they went on to lose a hat-trick of games against India.

Devon Conway was the pick of the batters as he chipped in with 138 off 100 balls including 12 fours and 8 hits over the fence at a strike rate of 138. On the other hand, Team India posted 385/9 in their quota of 50 overs.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored 101 and 112 respectively whereas Hardik Pandya scored 54. Shardul Thakur bowled incredibly well for India as he accounted for three dismissals in six overs.

The action shifts to the T20I series as the T20I opener is slated to be played on January 27, Friday at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi.
