After Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma and Navdeep Saini were ruled out, they have suffered another blow as stand-in skipper KL Rahul has faced an injury scare ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh.

Rahul got hit on his left thumb while batting in the nets and is advised icing on the bruised area. Although batting coach Vikram Rathour said that the injury doesn’t look serious but didn’t confirm whether the batter will play or not.

If Rahul’s swelling doesn’t get any better tell tomorrow then it is likely that he will miss the second game and Cheteshwar Pujara in that case will lead the team in Dhaka. If the No.3 batter captained India for the second Test, he will become the 5th captain to lead the side in the last year.
