Former Indian white-ball captain Virat Kohli has made it clear that despite the fact he has been sacked as the ODI captain of India, he will still provide his full support to the new captain Rohit Sharma and the new head coach Rahul Dravid.

Kohli is still the test captain of India, and he addressed the press conference in the capacity of a test captain today before the departure to South Africa, where he was asked questions related to his removal as ODI captain as well as the test series against SA.

While Kohli said it would be important for the players to adapt to the South African conditions as quickly as possible, he also said that Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma would be a big miss, both of whom are injured at the moment.

There is no clarity on the status of Jadeja’s injury as yet, but Rohit’s hamstring injury is not a tear and it is believed that he should be able to regain fitness before the start of the ODI series against SA, which will also be his first ODI series as the full-time white-ball captain of India.
