Indian Cricket Team are having a great time in Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. Not only they are enjoying off the field, but they are having an ideal preparation for the tournament. The Rohit Sharma-led side arrived down under early to get used to conditions and had a good practice sessions as well. They will begin their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday (23rd October) in Melbourne.

Ahead of the tournament, they will play four warmup games. They recently faced Western Australia in the  recently and bagged a 13-run victory in the first game. Suryakumar Yadav’s 52 runs knock and superlative bowling performance by Arshdeep Singh 3/6, Yuzvendra Chahal 2/15 and Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2/26 helped them begin their campaign with the win.

The Men in Blue locked horns with Western Australia in the second warmup game on Thursday (13th October) at the WACA in Perth. They decided to bowl first and had a decent outing as R Ashwin 3/32, Harshal Patel 2/27, and Arshdeep Singh 1/25 helped India restrict the opposition to a total of 168/8.

However, what surprised many was that KL Rahul was leading the side despite Rohit Sharma being part of the XI as well. BCCI revealed the team sheet and many fans were quick to notice the change in the leadership role. Notably, KL Rahul will be the vice-captain for India in the T20 World Cup 2022.
