Fans on Twitter were unhappy with the seniors of the Indian Cricket Team after they ignored wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant, during the post-match presentation of the third T20I in Hyderabad against Australia.
Rishabh Pant ignored by the teammates during the post-match presentation of the third T20I against Australia
Things are not going well for Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper batter has found himself on the sidelines since Dinesh Karthik has returned to the team. Despite his heroics in Tests and ODIs, the southpaw has failed to find a place in the playing XI in T20Is.
He did have the opportunity to showcase his mettle in the Asia Cup but he failed to set the stage on fire and gave away his wickets. In the recently concluded T20I series against Australia, Pant warmed the bench in the two games and didn’t get an opportunity to bat in the one game he played.
Although he’s in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2022 but it’s likely that he’ll be the second choice keeper in the side with Karthik being the first preference. With the South Africa series also around the corner, it remains to be seen if the southpaw will be given the opportunity to play or not.
Recently a video went viral on Instagram in which many have claimed that senior players likely Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya have ignored Pant when he tried to talk to them. Also when players posed for the group picture with the trophy, he was seen standing far behind.
Here’s the video:
