It would seem that Mohammed Azharuddin, who served as captain of India in the past, has come out in support of Virat Kohli. He has strongly encouraged everyone to avoid using phrases such as “out of form” since doing so puts an incredible amount of pressure on athletes.

A great deal of discussion revolving around Kohli is serving as a model in preparation for the 2022 Asia Cup. The majority of people believe that the star batter is not performing up to his usual standards, while others believe that he just needs to build up his run total.

Kohli, who is 33 years old, sat out India’s recent tours of Zimbabwe and the West Indies to get some much-needed rest. He made his most recent appearance on India’s tour of England back in July.

Even though the right-hander has had some strong performances, he still needs more game experience to keep his spot in the starting eleven. Because of the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup, the remaining matches for India have a great deal of significance for the batter. This is particularly the case considering the intense rivalry for his position in the starting eleven.

What did Mohammed Azharuddin say?

Although he did not specifically name Virat Kohli, it is reasonable to infer from the surrounding information that the 59-year-old commentator was referring to the dominant batter in question. In a tweet, Azharuddin said

“‘Out of form’ a phrase that puts unprecedented amount of pressure on a player. Let them just go ahead and play with no speculations.”

At the Dubai International Stadium on August 28, 2022, the first match of the Asia Cup will be between India and Pakistan.

During the practice in Dubai, the former captain of India attempted to bat first against the spinners as soon as possible. He left the batting crease to smash high drives that went over Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal’s heads. According to the reports, he arrived first for the net session and batted for almost two and a half hours.
