Sri Lankan umpire Kumar Dharamsena recently formed his all-time XI. Interestingly, he selected only one Indian player in his all-time XI. There were a total of three players from the Sri Lankan cricket team, while the captain of the team was from Australia.

Speaking of Dharamsena’s all-time XI, he started the team by picking the left-handed duo of Matthew Hayden and Sanath Jayasuriya as his openers. Both Hayden and Jayasuriya have the capability to single-handedly destroy any bowling attack on earth. They have the backing of Ricky Ponting at the number three position. Ponting is one of the most successful captains in cricket history.

Dharamsena named Ponting as the captain of his team and added Sachin Tendulkar to complete the top-order. He went with two left-handed batters and two right-handed batters in the Top 4. Dharamsena then decided to add two more left-handed batters to his team. He went with former West Indies cricket team captain Brian Lara at number five and former Sri Lankan cricket team captain Kumar Sangakkara at number six.

The Sri Lankan umpire decided to assign the wicket-keeping responsibilities to Kumar. There were two pace-bowling all-rounders present in Dharamsena’s all-time XI. The first being former South African cricket team star Jacques Kallis and the second being former Pakistan cricket team star Wasim Akram.

To complete the all-time XI, Kumar Dharamsena added two spin bowlers and a fast bowler. He picked a spinner each from Australia and Sri Lanka, as he named the former Australian cricket team leg-spinner Shane Warne and former Sri Lankan cricket team off-spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan.

He completed the playing XI by naming former Australian cricket team fast bowler Glenn McGrath as the 11th player. Here is his full all-time XI:
