The 1998 India vs. Australia series has a special place in the hearts of the Sachin Tendulkar fanbase because of the way the Little Master destroyed Shane Warne and co. In that series which was hosted by India, fans expected Warne to give Tendulkar a run for his money because the conditions in India assisted the spin bowlers.

However, Tendulkar played aggressively against Shane Warne and hit him all across the park. Shedding some light on Sachin’s numbers from that series, the Master Blaster scored 446 runs in just three Tests at an unbelievable batting average of 111.50. Although it was Test cricket, Sachin had a strike rate of 80.65.

That series is best remembered for Sachin’s brilliance, and in that series, the right-handed batter registered two centuries and a fifty. His highest score was 177. He started the series with a score of 4 as Shane Warne dismissed him cheaply.

But Sachin avenged that dismissal with an unbeaten 155* in the second innings of the Chennai Test match. In the second match at Eden Gardens, he batted in one innings and scored 79 runs off 86 deliveries. Later in the series, he scored 177 & 31 in the third Test hosted by Bengaluru.

Both Tendulkar and Warne have retired from all formats of cricket now, but they were up against each other during an exhibition series involving the retired players in the USA. Fans are hoping that they get to witness another chapter in this rivalry during one of the future exhibition series featuring the players who have retired from cricket.
