Universe Boss Chris Gayle has announced his return in style for the next edition of the Indian Premier League. The left-handed batter holds the record for the most sixes and the highest individual score in the tournament’s history. Surprisingly, Gayle made himself unavailable for IPL 2022 even though he participated in other leagues.

Even in IPL 2021, Gayle decided to take a break from the bio-bubble and left the Punjab Kings midway during the competition. Many fans thought that since the Jamaican star did not register himself for the mega auction, he would not play in IPL ever again. However, Gayle has made it clear that he is not done yet.

“The guy I saw in 2013 and the guy I last partied with in 2020 IPL season, his energy levels have just gone up. I’m like how do you do this? I’ve seen him hit a six from the toe of the bat. You know, it was a 70-72 meter six.”

Rahul further mentioned that he felt unfair because even if he timed a big shot well, it would go 75 meters. In the same interview, the Lucknow Super Giants captain added that AB de Villiers was his favorite player, and he had a ‘kid in a candy store’ moment in 2013 when he shared the dressing room with the likes of de Villiers, Virat Kohli, Zaheer Khan and Chris Gayle at RCB.
