MS Dhoni was the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team during the playing days of his cricketing career. Under his captaincy, Team India became a phenomenal force to be reckoned with across all formats of the game.
Notably, India went on to win three different ICC trophies under the astute leadership traits of MS Dhoni. Team India won the inaugural edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2007 held in South Africa.
Four years later, Team India went on to win the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2011 tournament, in what was also India’s second ODI World Cup in their history. A couple of years later, the Men in Blue won the Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.

Team India made it all the way to the finals of the competition and got the better of the England cricket team on England soil and won the ICC Champions Trophy. With that special win, MS Dhoni became the first and only captain to have guided Team India to three different ICC titles.

What really set MS Dhoni apart from others was the fact that he was literally so focused on the team performing well. Kirsten who once worked as a head coach of the Indian cricket teams said that MS Dhoni wanted to win trophies and have a great deal of success.
He further added that even Sachin Tendulkar also started enjoying cricket. MS Dhoni retired from all forms of international cricket in late August 15, 2020. Since then, he has been playing in the Indian Premier League. He will be next seen in action for the sixteenth edition of the IPL for Chennai Super Kings.
