Mahendra Singh Dhoni was one of the major pillars in the history of the Indian cricket team. The former Indian skipper is widely regarded as one of the greatest players and captains in the history of Indian cricket.

It was under his captaincy, Team India have won three different ICC trophies (T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011, Champions Trophy), two Asia Cup titles. India became a phenomenal force to be reckoned with in international cricket.

In late August 15, 2020, MS Dhoni called it quits from international cricket as he made his announcement through an Instagram post. In his retirement post, he announced that he was taking a break from the game.

After his retirement from international cricket, MS Dhoni is still continuing to play for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. Under his captaincy, Chennai Super Kings have won four IPL titles and decorated the trophy cabinet.

Ravindra Jadeja reveals the time of MS Dhoni’s retirement

Meanwhile, CSK’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja opened up on the time of MS Dhoni’s retirement while speaking to Star. He added that MS Dhoni knows when he really needs to play and if he feels it’s time, then he would silently quit without even telling anyone.

MS Dhoni has been closely associated with the CSK franchise since the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008. Notably, he has been an integral part of the CSK’s success for more than a decade.

Apart from his captaincy skills, he is also a valuable contributor with the bat and behind the stumps. MS Dhoni has scored 5052 runs at an average of 39.5 including 24 half-centuries at a strike rate of 135.9. He registered his personal best score of 84*.

As a wicketkeeper, he has taken as many as 141 catches including 23 run-outs and 41 stumpings. MS Dhoni is in the final stages of his IPL career and is currently enjoying playing the games in IPL 2023.
