Afghanistan Cricket Team is the latest entrant in the list of teams who have announced their squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. The marquee event will take place in Australia from 16th October to 13th November.
Afghanistan announced the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2022
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Thursday (15th September) revealed their team for the T20 World Cup 2022. The squad will be led by Mohammad Nabi with Najibullah Zadran being his deputy.
Middle-order batter Darwish Rasooli has recovered from the finger injury and has retained his place back in the side. Along with him Qais Ahmed and Salim Safi have also earned their places in the 15-member squad.

However, the likes of Samiullah Shinwari, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afsar Zazai, Karim Janat, and Noor Ahmad have been dropped from the squad due to poor performances.
Apart from the main squad, Afghanistan has named Afsar Zazai, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Rahmat Shah, and Gulbadin Naib as the reserves in the side.

Afghanistan’s schedule for the T20 World Cup 2022
Afghanistan is placed in the Group A of the Super 12 stage along with Australia, England, and New Zealand. They will open their campaign against England in Perth on 22nd October and then will face New Zealand on 26th October at MCG.
They will then take on winners of the qualifiers on 28th October and 1st November before taking on hosts Australia on 4th November in Adelaide.
