Defending champions lost some key players but the core of the side is still intact. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer have also returned back. On that note, here, we take a look at the likely playing 11 of KKR in IPL 2025.
Openers: Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock (WK)
It will be an experienced opening combination in the likely playing 11 of KKR in IPL 2025. KKR went hard for Phil Salt but just could not get him back. Nevertheless, in Quinton de Kock, KKR has an experienced alternative. R Gurbaz could also step in if required.
Middle-Order: Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Venkatesh Iyer (C) and Rinku Singh
Angkrish Raghuvanshi is likely to feature at No.3 in the likely playing 11 of KKR in IPL 2025. Having invested so much in him, Venkatesh Iyer is also likely to become the captain of the side. Rinku Singh is also an option but he might be more focussed on establishing a role at No.5 or No.6.
All-Rounders: Andre Russell and Ramandeep Singh
Andre Russell and Ramandeep Singh will do the finishing duties with the bat for KKR. Both are big-hitters and have done well for the side. They will also chip in with a few overs of medium-pace.
Bowlers: Harshit Rana, Anrich Nortje, Varun CV and Vaibhav Arora
The core of the bowling unit remains the same for KKR. Mitchell Starc is not there and the likes of Anrich Nortje and Spencer Johnson will compete to take his place. Harshit is now a capped cricketer and will have an important role to play in the death overs.
Impact Player: Ajinkya Rahane, Umran Malik, Mayank Markhande, Anukul Roy and Manish Pandey
KKR has a plethora of options for the 12th player. Depending on whether they are batting first of second, the options range from the likes of Rahane to that of Umran Malik.
