In what has been the latest development, Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) new recruit Will Jacks has been ruled out of the IPL 2023. The all-rounder suffered a muscle injury while fielding during the recently concluded ODI series between England and Bangladesh.

After consultations with the medical team, England player was deemed unfit to play in the tournament. He was brought by the franchise in the IPL 2023 auction for INR INR 3.2 Crore. Jacks was in terrific form of late and his absence could be a major blow for RCB.

The franchise, however, was quick to announce the replacement. They roped in New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell at his base price of INR 1 crore. The Kiwi all-rounder has played 16 T20Is in which he has scored 113 runs and picked up 21 wickets.

The IPL 2023 will kick start from 31st March and the Royal Challengers Bangalore will open their campaign against Mumbai Indians at Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2.
