The sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League has indeed lived up to the expectations of the fans. There were intense, power-packed, entertaining, thrilling and exciting stuff during the passage of the play.
To be precise, the ongoing season of the IPL is ever so interesting than ever before. The standards of the tournament has increased to a great extent and we have been witnessed top-quality stuff on the field.
However, for the first time this season, a hilarious incident was spotted during the 27th game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell play Rock Paper Scissors during the DRS
Royal Challengers Bangalore batted first and posted 174/4 in their designated quota of 20 overs. Faf du Plessis top-scored with 84 off 56 balls where he constructed his innings with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes to his name.
On the other side of the coin, Virat Kohli, who is leading the team against Punjab Kings scored a half-century but at a slow pace. He brought up his fifty off 40 balls and ended up scoring 59 off 47 (5 fours and a six).
During Punjab Kings’ run-chase, an interesting incident was observed during the 11th over when Punjab Kings were taking DRS. Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell were spotted playing the traditional Rock Paper Scissors game.
Basically, the simple game is purely based on luck. Stone beats scissors whereas scissors beats paper (because scissors cut paper) whereas paper beats stone (because paper covers stone).
Punjab Kings’ playing XI: Atharva Taide, Matthew Short, Harpreet Singh Bhatia, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran (c), Jitesh Sharma (wk), Shahrukh Khan, Harpreet Brar, Nathan Ellis, Rahul Chahar, Arshdeep Singh
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s playing XI: Virat Kohli (c), Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Wanindu Hasaranga, Suyash Prabhudessai, Harshal Patel, Wayne Parnell, Mohammed Siraj
