“It was on the cards”, Twitter reacts to the reports that Jasprit Bumrah has been advised one more month for rehab

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been away from the field for quite a long time now due to his injury. He suffered a major back injury in September 2022 and missed the 2022 T20 World Cup for the same reason. Well, he has now recovered completely and will be able to play in the 2023 Indian Premier League for his franchise, the Mumbai Indians.

According to reports, Bumrah was set to play in the series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand because he needs a lot of game time to be match fit for the IPL and the much-anticipated ODI World Cup later this year. In fact, he was also added to India’s squad for the Sri Lanka series. However, the BCCI later decided that it would be best to rest the bowler a little longer in order to avoid any risks.

It is now being said that Jasprit Bumrah has been advised to complete one more month of rehabilitation to attain complete fitness. For those who do not know, Bumrah has been under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) since last September.

It is strange how both the main bowlers of the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season of the IPL are coming off big injuries. Of course, we are talking about Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer. Well, the injury to Archer was a lot more serious, and it kept him away from the field for over a year.

Coming back to the topic at hand, it is really important that Jasprit Bumrah, India’s best fast bowler currently, is completely fit for the 2023 ODI World Cup. After 2011, the World Cup is once again being hosted by India, and this is probably our best shot at the title in a long time. We better not waste this opportunity.
