With two new teams in the fray from IPL 2022, a few uncapped players will get consistent opportunities. Some uncapped cricketers such as Shahrukh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi and R Sai Kishore are already in line to receive expensive contracts. However, some other domestic players could also trigger a bidding war. In this article, we take a look at three uncapped players who can spring a surprise in the upcoming IPL 2022 Auctions.

1) Akshay Karnewar

Akshay Karnewar is one of the uncapped players who can spring a surprise in the upcoming IPL 2022 Auctions. In the era of matchups, teams look for variety in their roster. Being an ambidextrous spinner, Akshay offers that in a bundle. He is also in good form.

In 2021’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he collected a total of 13 wickets. In one of the games, he bowled four maidens. The Vidarbha man is also a decent batsman in the lower order. He can be relied upon for a few big hits at No.7. Hence, the former RCB player can script a subplot in the IPL 2022 Auctions.

2) Vishnu Vinod

Vishnu Vinod did not lead the batting charts in the recent limited-overs domestic season. However, he contributed with a few impact knocks for Kerala. He had donned a difficult role of batting in the middle-order. Vishnu impressed experts with his ability to strike the ball cleanly.

There is set to be a mad rush for Indian keepers at the auction. Vishnu is someone many teams could target. Interestingly, he has also added medium-pace bowling to his armoury. This is only going to make his salary go even higher.

3) KC Cariappa

In 2015, Kolkata Knight Riders paid INR 2.4 CR to hire KC Cariappa. However, the mystery spinner could not leave an impression.

Although he played for other teams such as Punjab and Rajasthan, Cariappa has still not been able to find form. However, in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Karnataka spinner was in fine touch. He took 12 wickets in nine games at an economy of just 5.63. He also saved Karnataka in a game with a superb batting show. Cariappa is a mystery spinner, and batsmen found it hard to play him. Such bowlers are always in demand, and Cariappa could be at the centre of yet another hefty IPL contract.
