Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Rajasthan Royals in the 17th match of this season’s IPL at their fortress, MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK skipper, MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Rajasthan Royals posted a pretty challenging total of 175 for the loss of eight wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Jos Buttler was the pick of the batsmen for Rajasthan Royals as he chipped in with 52 off 36 balls.

He constructed his innings with the help of 1 four and three hits over the fence. Devdutt Padikkal scored 38 runs whereas the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Ravichandran Ashwin scored 30 runs apiece.

On the other hand, Akash Singh, Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets apiece. Moeen Ali took one wicket to his name for CSK. In response, Rajasthan Royals bowlers tried their maximum best to keep CSK batters silent more often than not.

Ajinkya Rahane looked good for his 31 off 19 balls including 2 fours and a six. CSK captain, MS Dhoni produced one heck of a fireworks in the end as he chipped in with 32 off just 17 balls where he struck one four and three hits over the fence.

Sandeep Sharma managed to defend the total with superb bowling performance. He managed to keep the batters in check and helped the team secure a thriller.
