Indian Premier League now forms an important part of Indian Cricket. Let alone T20Is and ODIs, sometimes, even the Test Team has had selections that IPL might have influenced. In this tournament, players play against the best opposition under pressure. This gives a huge clue about their skills and their mentality. On that note, in this article, we explore a unique scenario. India is currently preparing for the 2023 ODI World Cup and we construct a team comprising at least one player from each IPL franchise. As winners of IPL 2023, we include two from Chennai Super Kings. Here, we take a look at India’s best possible ODI XI if one player had to be picked from nine IPL franchises and two from winners CSK.

Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK) and Sanju Samson (RR)

Sanju Samson will be a part of India’s best possible ODI XI if one player had to be picked from nine IPL franchises and two from winners CSK. India’s first-choice openers will not be a part of the team. While Ruturaj will represent CSK, the Rajasthan Royals skipper will open and keep wickets for this team.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will open the batting for India at the 2023 ODI World Cup. Ishan Kishan is someone who might be the backup in this department.

Middle-Order: Virat Kohli (RCB), Shreyas Iyer (KKR) and KL Rahul (LSG)

It will be India’s first-choice middle-order for this XI, as well. Virat Kohli will represent RCB and will play at No.3, a spot which will be important in the batting line-up.

Both Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are coming off a long injury spell. For the success of the Indian Team, these two must fire for the squad.

All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya (GT), Ravindra Jadeja (CSK) and Washington Sundar (SRH)

Hardik Pandya is the captain of Gujarat Titans and is currently the vice-captain of Team India. However, as per reports, Jasprit Bumrah is close to displacing Hardik in this role. Hardik will also be the third seamer for this playing XI.

Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar will be the spin-bowling all-rounders in this XI. While the selection of Jaddu was not difficult, selecting a player from SRH was a tricky decision. Sundar seems most likely to get to the ODI squad and hence, he has been included.

Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav (DC), Jasprit Bumrah (MI), Arshdeep Singh (PBKS)

Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack in India’s best possible ODI XI if one player had to be picked from nine IPL franchises and two from winners CSK. Kuldeep Yadav will represent Delhi Capitals and will also lead the spin attack of this XI.

Bumrah has recently made his return from injury. His fitness and form will be key for India to win the 2023 ODI World Cup. From Punjab Kings, it is Arshdeep Singh who will play here. It is surprising that he is not in the picture of the ODI squad, especially since he has been in good form recently. Shikhar Dhawan was also an option but the team combination did not allow him to get a spot.
