Fans on Twitter reacted after New Zealand defeated Ireland in their last game of the T20 World Cup 2022 to almost book their place in the semi-final. They were delighted that India will now not face the Black Caps in the semi-final and also congratulated Kiwis for the win.

New Zealand has almost booked their berth for the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 after their thumping win over Ireland in Adelaide. Asked to bat first, they went off the great start as Fin Allen (32) and Devon Conway (28) scored 52 runs for the opening partnership.

After that skipper, Kane Williamson returned to form and played a classical inning of 61 runs. He was complimented well by Daryl Mitchell, who scored unbeaten 31 runs as New Zealand posted a total of 185 runs on the board. For Ireland, Joshua Little was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged a hat-trick and returned with the figures of 3/22.

Chasing the target, Ireland too had a decent opening partnership as Paul Stirling (37) and Andrew Balbirnie (30) stitched 68 runs for the opening partnership. But after that, they fell to spinners and lost wickets in clusters. Every Kiwi bowler except Trent Boult contributed with the ball as they restricted Ireland to a total of 150 and win the game by 35 runs.
