IND vs AUS 2022: Indian Cricket Team is all set to host Australia for the three-match T20I series. The series between the two cricketing heavyweights will start on 20th September in Mohali followed by the second and third games to be played on 23rd and 25th September respectively.

The series between India and Australia will act as a preparation for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. Both teams have named their squad for the marquee tournament and almost all of those players will feature in the series. KL Rahul
Ever since KL returned to competitive cricket after his injury, he has failed to deliver for his side. He injured himself after the IPL and then made comeback during the Zimbabwe tour and since then he hasn’t made his mark. He had tough outings in the Asia Cup as well as many criticized him for his slow strike rate. However, with T20 World Cup 2022 around the corner, Rahul would want to fine-tune his form and get himself into the groove during the Australia series. Although there’s no doubt about his ability as a T20I batter, he will be under the scanner with the bench strength India has.
Yuzvendra Chahal
Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will also be under the pressure to perform as his outings in the Asia Cup 2022 were underwhelming. He failed to take wickets at the crucial stage and it’s fair to say that it was one of the main reasons behind India’s downfall in the tournament. There’s no doubt that he needs to step up and take wickets in the middle for his side during the World Cup and only then India can fancy their chances of winning. With him failing to take wickets in his restricted runs, it’ll be extremely necessary for him to regain his form in the Australia series.

Rishabh Pant
The player for which the Australia series will be most important is none other than wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. His selection in the T20 World Cup 2022 saw many criticizing the BCCI as they said that the southpaw didn’t deserve a place in the side. It’s fair to say that hasn’t quite set the stage on fire in the shortest format of the game. Also with Dinesh Karthik on the side, he will be under more scrutiny to perform and he would have a point to prove in the series against Australia.
