KL Rahul perishes to the short ball for 23 runs in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh

Stand-in Indian skipper KL Rahul bagged another failure in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram. After India bundled out the hosts for just 150 runs in the first innings, taking a lead of over 250 runs, many expected them to enforce the follow-on.

But skipper Rahul went against it and allowed his top order to spend some time in the middle. Many backed the stand-in captain to score big and return to form. But this wasn’t the case as he bagged another failure and was back in the hut for a low total.

Rahul fell into the short ball ploy by Khaled Ahmed, who bowled a proper bouncer that bounced and hurried him on the pull shot. The batter got a top edge towards fine leg, where Taijul took a good catch to send the India skipper packing.

Notably, Rahul looked solid for most of his innings but he didn’t look settle against short balls. He was back in the hut for 24 runs off 70 balls. The right-hander was out on a false stroke in the first innings as he chopped on a delivery from a similar bowler and was back in the hut for just 22 runs.
