The young South African fast bowler Marco Jansen has admitted that any bowler in the world would be happy to start his IPL campaign with the wicket of MS Dhoni, and he was also very happy yesterday that he managed to dismiss the former Indian captain in the game between CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

It was a must-win game for both sides as both sides had lost back to back games before coming into this encounter and when MS Dhoni walked out to bat for CSK at no. 7 towards the end period of their innings, he was greeted with huge cheer.

But, Dhoni couldn’t quite make a significant difference for CSK with the bat as he got out trying to pull Marco Jansen over the fine leg boundary. Dhoni couldn’t quite get the shot under control and a loopy hit was safely held by Umran Malik in the deep.

Marco Jansen used specific tactics to dismiss former CSK skipper MS Dhoni

Marco Jansen later talked about the tactics he had up his sleeve for MS Dhoni, as he said he wanted to bowl back of length to the CSK wicketkeeper-batsman since the ball was holding into the surface a little bit and wasn’t swinging a lot when pitched up.

So, he went cross-seam and tried and hit the surface hard to make sure the batsman gets into a tangle while trying to play the horizontal bat shot and that’s exactly what happened, as Dhoni couldn’t quite time the ball while trying to help the ball over the fine leg boundary.

Marco Jansen had to sit out of SRH XI for the first couple of matches as the SRH management had decided to go with Romario Shepherd as their fast bowling allrounder. However, Jansen got his opportunity because of Shepherd’s indifferent returns and he grabbed it with both hands.
