As a result, the IPL franchises don’t hesitate to splash the cash in buying the right players that fit their bill. The IPL 2023 mini-auction was held in Kochi on December 23 and the 10 teams tried their maximum best to sign the players.

Some teams including Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad broke the bank and roped in big signings. Sam Curran was the most expensive player in the auction as he was roped in by Punjab Kings for a whopping price tag of INR 18.25 crore.

England international Harry Brook expressed his delight after he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a price tag of INR 13.25 crore, which is exactly nine times his base price of INR 1.5 crore.

The Yorkshire batsman also became the first millionaire at the Indian Premier League auctions for the 2023 edition. Harry Brook literally couldn’t control his happiness after he was roped in by SRH for a massive price.

He will be looking forward to justifying his price tag in the forthcoming season of the IPL. During an interview with Daily Mail, Harry Brook expressed that playing in IPL was a dream.

Moreover, he also added that the money is indeed a huge bonus for him. He further said that he ran short of words when he went for a massive price. Last but not least. he said he didn’t think that he would go for this much price at the auction.

Harry Brook has played 20 T20Is in his cricketing career wherein he scored 372 runs at an average of 26.6. He has maintained a strike rate of 137.8, registering his personal best score of 81*.
