The 2022 Indian Premier League season was one for the ages for the Mumbai Indians, the league’s most successful franchise. They had their worst IPL finish ever, coming in at number 10 in the standings, despite having won the trophy five times before.

Ten players have been retained by Mumbai, while five have been let go. Zee 24 Taas reports that the following players have been kept on the team: Rohit Sharma, Dewald Brewis, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Daniel Sams, Tim David, Jofra Archer, Jasprit Bumrah, Tristan Stubbs, and Tilak Verma.

Hrithik Shoukin, Kieron Pollard, Fabian Allen, Tymal Mills, and Mayank Markande may all be free now.

MI, the current and five-time defending IPL champions, have released Kieron Pollard, the biggest news from their list of retained and released players. CSK has decided to release Chris Jordan, Adam Milne, and Mitchell Santner, but they have kept Ravindra Jadeja.

While Pollard had been with the Mumbai Indians since 2010, he was released after a relatively ineffective season. For the 16th iteration of the lucrative Indian Premier League, the mini-auction for IPL 2023 will take place on December 23 in Kochi. BCCI requested that all franchises submit their retained and released player lists by November 15. Now, it remains to be seen which franchise makes a bid for the big Carribean player. Pollard will relish an opportunity to play for another franchise.

CSK’s administration had already replaced MS Dhoni with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja before the commencement of the IPL 2022. But under his leadership, Chennai had a terrible start to the competition, and Jadeja himself stood down from the captaincy job before being injured and therefore ruled out of the tournament.

News outlet Zee 24 claims that both MI and CSK have already handed in their rosters to the BCCI.
