Babar Azam came under fire for his captaincy duties and the fact that he was unable to bring out positive results in Test cricket in the previous calendar year made things much more complicated for Pakistan cricket.

Pakistan skipper failed to win even a single Test in 2022 as the team hit a new low in the history of Test cricket. Moreover, Babar Azam became the first Pakistan skipper to lose four consecutive Tests on the trot at home.

Besides that, Babar Azam also became the first Pakistan captain to suffer a Test series whitewash at home. Ben Stokes and Co that toured Pakistan at the end of the previous calendar year inflicted a 3-0 whitewash on Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam is currently involved in the 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League. He currently plays for the Peshawar Zalmi franchise and is also the captain of the franchise.

Shoaib Akhtar takes a swipe at Babar Azam

Meanwhile, former Pakistani fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar openly took a swipe at Babar Azam and his teammates for not improving their communication skills.

During an explosive interview with a local Pakistani channel, Suno News, Shoaib Akhtar reckons that public speaking in English became quite a tough task for Pakistani players.

He also urged the players of the Pakistan cricket team to enhance their oratory skills. According to the Rawalpindi Express, playing cricket is one job while handling or managing the media is another job.

Furthermore, Shoaib Akhtar echoed that he wants to openly say that Pakistan skipper should be the biggest brand in Pakistan. Besides that, he also went on to reveal why Babar Azam hasn’t become the biggest brand in Pakistan in the first place. He further questioned, how tough is it to learn and speak English.

The Rawalpindi Express echoed that Babar Azam hasn’t become a massive brand in Pakistan because he can’t speak. Akhtar’s comments have gone viral and Babar Azam is yet to respond to these remarks.
