Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma literally struggled to get going in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. He came under fire for failing to lead the batting attack by example.
The veteran cricket was criticized for his string of poor scores and strike rate this season. However, he ensured to let his bat do the talking in the game against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing edition of the IPL.
During the 16th match of the IPL, Rohit Sharma unleashed his true colours by scoring runs when it mattered the most in the run-chase against David Warner-led Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Rohit Sharma hits a fifty off 29 balls against Delhi Capitals
Mumbai Indians‘ captain Rohit Sharma who failed to produce a spark this season rose to the occasion and scored a marvellous half-century against Delhi Capitals.
He brought up his fifty in 29 deliveries and drew plaudits for his clean-hitting skills. Interestingly, he didn’t even celebrate after scoring a half-century as he was pretty much focused on the game.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals posted 172 runs at the expense of all the 10 wickets. Axar Patel scored 54 off 25 balls with the help of 4 boundaries and 5 hits over the fence.
In response, Mumbai Indians’ captain delivered the much-needed goods. He ended up scoring 65 off 45 balls including six fours and four hits over the fence at a strike rate of 144.44 before he was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman.
