Hardik Pandya is turning out to be one of the top utility players of the Indian national cricket team. He is best known for his batting exploits, bowling and fielding skills. Besides that, he is learning the art of captaincy after being appointed as the T20I captain by the board.
The BCCI wants him to shoulder the responsibility as far as the T20I format is concerned. As things stand, the board doesn’t want Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to play in T20Is.
With the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup slated to be held later in the October-November window, the board wants the senior cricketers to focus only on playing ODIs and Tests as well.
Talking about Hardik Pandya, he hasn’t lost a T20I series as captain. Under his captaincy, India won the T20I series against Ireland, New Zealand (away), Sri Lanka and New Zealand (home), which is quite a record as a T20I captain.
During the previous season of the IPL, Gujarat Titans made it all the way to the finals in their debut season and defeated Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya is a regular starter when it comes to ODIs and T20Is. On the other hand, he hasn’t played a Test match for a long time now. His last Test appearance came against the England cricket team back on August 30, 2018.
Since then, he fell out of the selectors’ radar. Meanwhile, the all-rounder himself revealed when he make a rebound to Test cricket. He said he will make a comeback to Test cricket when he feels it is the right time to play.
Overall, Hardik Pandya has played eleven games in his Test career. He scored 532 runs at an average of 31.3 including one century and four fifties to his name.
