Things are getting intense for the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023. The summit clash is expected to take place from June 7 to 11 at the Oval with a reserve day in place (12 June). With just a few series left in the cycle, we are still unsure of who will be the two teams that will play the summit clash. Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and India are in contention. It’s fair to say that India and Australia are the strong candidates to play in the final. But one cannot predict the game of cricket. It still remains to be seen who will be the two teams to qualify.
Qualification scenario for Team India for World Test Championship Final after second Test win against Australia in DelhiÂ
Indian Cricket Team is leaving no stone unturned to make their case strong to play the final of the World Test Championship. Their thumping innings and 132 runs win in the first Test and 6 wickets win in Delhi Test against Australia have put them really close to the final of the Test Championship.
It’s fair to say that with the win in the second Test against Australia, they have put one step into the final of the Test Championship. All they need to do is that they need to win at least one of the remaining two games against Australia.
India has lost just 2 matches in the last 44 Tests at home.

However, even if they didn’t win the last two games they still have the chance to qualify. But they would be wanting some results to go in their favour. They would want New Zealand to beat Sri Lanka in at least one game and if that happens they are through even if they lose the last two games.
They are placed second on the points table of WTC 2023 with 10 wins from 16 games and have 123 points to their name with a win percentage of 64.06%. Their qualification is now very much in their hands as they need just one win to play the final.
