Mumbai Indians are locking horns with the Gujarat Titans in the 57th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The blockbuster clash is taking place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Talking about the game, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians to bat first. The five-time IPL champions got off to a surreal start to the game, courtesy of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma’s batting exploits.
The duo scored runs at a rate of knots. MI captain Rohit Sharma who has been in woeful form this season played the game with a lot of intent and positive attitude. He looked in upbeat mode as he struck 29 off 18 balls.
Rohit Sharma scored 29 off 18 against Gujarat Titans
Notably, he constructed his innings with the help of three boundaries and two hits over the fence and played at a strike rate of 161.11 before he was dismissed by Rashid Khan in the first ball of the seventh over.
Overall, it was indeed good to see Rohit Sharma upping his game quite a bit in the tough game against Gujarat Titans. He was long been criticized for his poor form this season. Earlier, he registered 2 consecutive ducks against Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings.
In the previous game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rohit Sharma was in good touch with the bat was dismissed in an unlucky fashion for seven runs. However, in today’s game, he did make a proper statement by scoring 29 runs. This knock must have surely boosted his confidence levels.
