“Good move from Punter, he is not a good fielder”, Twitter reacts as Prithvi Shaw does not feature in the playing XI and slotted in the impact player list

A lot of changes were made to Delhi Capitals’ starting XI after they lost their first two games of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. They were taking on Rajasthan Royals on April 8.

While renowned all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was absent due to his return to Australia for his wedding, the likes of Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan were left off the roster in favour of Lalit Yadav and Manish Pandey. Rovman Powell came in for Mitchell Marsh, while Khaleel Ahmed started in place of Aman Khan (who had entered the previous game as a second-half replacement).

Prithvi Shaw not in the playing XI. He’s slotted in the impact player list

Sarfaraz was always someone who had the swords on him, and he was bound to lose his spot after several failures, particularly in light of Abhishek Porel’s stellar performance as wicketkeeper. Shaw’s departure is the most striking.

Warner did not identify Shaw as a substitution at the toss, but he is expected to be DC’s impact player sub in the second inning. It would be remarkable if the top batsman didn’t lead off the game with Warner. He isn’t among the finest fielders. Shaw’s season has gotten off to a slow start, as he has only scored 19 runs in two games.
